Ranking of Most Accident-Prone Federal Highways in Russia

Traffic accidents on federal roads have decreased, but 58 people have died in crashes this year, according to the State Traffic Inspectorate.

The State Traffic Inspectorate shared the number of accidents that occurred on federal highways. The police provided the statistics exclusively for 72.RU.

«According to statistics, there is a decrease in the number of accidents on federal highways. In 2025, on five federal roads, 286 accidents occurred, which is 6.2 percent less than in 2024. The number of fatalities has also decreased: in 2025, 58 people died. The number of injured increased by 1.1% — a total of 453 people were injured,» said the State Traffic Inspectorate.

The most accident-prone road in the Tyumen Region was the road leading to Khanty-Mansiysk. There, 155 accidents occurred, in which 28 people died, and another 247 were injured. Second in the grim ranking was the road to Omsk, where 75 accidents happened with 14 fatalities.

The fewest accidents occurred on the road from Chelyabinsk to Kurgan to Omsk to Novosibirsk, the approach to Ishim, and the road towards Yekaterinburg. There, 6 and 14 accidents happened respectively. On the road to the west, one person died, and on the road leading to Ishim, six died.
