Putin's Visit to Dolgoprudny Paralyzes Moscow Roads

Traffic closures in Moscow were implemented for President Putin«s visit to a university on the eve of Student»s Day.
On Friday, January 23, central Moscow and roads leading to the north of the region were paralyzed due to large-scale closures. The road restrictions were imposed in connection with President Putin«s visit to the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), located in the Moscow region town of Dolgoprudny. That is where traffic jams are worst today. The Russian president came to Phystech on the eve of Student»s Day.

Heavy traffic congestion is seen on roads in northern Moscow following presidential motorcade preparations.
In addition to Dolgoprudny, residents of Khimki are also stuck in traffic jams — movement is difficult on Leningradskoye Highway. As readers of MSK1.RU reported in our online coverage, there was no movement on the highway for almost five hours. And in Moscow, traffic jams have been rated at 7 points since the afternoon.
‘Around 11:50, I stopped and have probably traveled only 500 meters since then. Ahead of me is a tunnel, and I can«t find any way to bypass this traffic jam,’ described the situation on the road by MSK1.RU reader Elena.
According to the Center for Traffic Organization (TsODD), traffic is being closed again now. Already closed are Leningradskoye towards the region, MSD in the area of the Businovskaya overpass, the exit from Leningradskoye to the outer TTK towards the center, and moreover, there is no movement on the outer side of the MKAD in the area of the Businovskaya overpass.
For details on the closures, read our online report. We also detailed what closures are currently in central Moscow near the Kremlin. There, it is now impossible to pass without traffic restrictions, and at the exit from the fortress, everything is blocked by fences.
