In Moscow, the MCC station «Nizhegorodskaya» has been closed indefinitely. On Friday evening, January 30, a concrete slab collapsed there. The Department of Transport stated that all protective mechanisms on the platform were activated, which ensured the integrity of the entire structure.

According to an MSK1.RU correspondent, all entrances to the MCC «Nizhegorodskaya» are blocked with metal fences. Banners with arrows pointing to passages to the nearest stations of the same name on the metro (Big Circle Line, BKL) and Moscow Central Diameter 4 (MCD-4) have been hung on them. Others state that trains are temporarily passing «Nizhegorodskaya» without stopping — «urgent repair work» is underway.

Nearby, loudspeakers broadcast a message advising passengers to use other types of transport. On the platform itself, according to the MSK1.RU correspondent, people in uniforms are inspecting the roof and foundation.

How long the platform will be repaired was not announced by the Moscow Railway (MZhD). Chairman of the Union of Passengers of Russia Kirill Yankov in a conversation with MSK1.RU stated that the timeline depends on the damage.
On trains, it is announced that there is no stop at Nizhegorodskaya
«If it»s only the upper part of the platform, then the timeline is a week. If it involves the structures under the platform, then the repair will take several months. In any case, five to six days is a very reasonable timeframe,« he said.
