Currently, to get from Gaidar Square to the new tunnel on 2nd Shosseynaya Street, only the far right lane is allowed, while going straight is permitted from all three lanes. In the new scheme, exiting the square onto 2nd Shosseynaya will be from the right and middle lanes, and driving straight ahead in the right lane will be prohibited.

The new traffic pattern will be implemented on Tuesday, January 27. The Ministry of Transport says this will increase the capacity of the exit from Gaidar Square to 2nd Shosseynaya and minimize congestion on the square itself, which due to self-blocking paralyzes traffic on all adjacent streets.

«We ask drivers to be attentive: change lanes in advance and observe mutual courtesy,» appealed the Ministry of Transport to Perm drivers. «Our »Traffic Safety Center« will monitor the situation and adjust traffic lights if necessary.»

Earlier, we reported that the exit from Gaidar Square to Yekaterininskaya Street was similarly altered.
