The pedestrian zone opened on the morning of July 21. It had been closed all summer, and residents were advised to cross the bridge via the left bank side.

«All summer we had to take a detour, which took much longer. It was even more inconvenient to get around on a scooter. Now the pedestrian zone toward the right bank is open, very convenient,» said NGS reader Elena.
The far right lane for cars toward the right bank has also been opened. The entire roadway is now divided into three parts by concrete blocks, with work ongoing in the middle.
Earlier, we reported that reversible traffic had been canceled on the Dimitrov Bridge. Work in 2026 is expected to be completed by October 1.
