Omsk officials declare bus air conditioners optional
The inside of buses is often unbearably hot
Stickers about non-working air conditioners have appeared in Omsk buses. Passengers noticed them on various routes. The corresponding photo was published in the community “Omsk VK | — City Life — News — Emergencies — Accidents”.

“We solved the issue for people. So that they [the administration] wouldn’t be pestered with questions about it, they covered the entire cabin with stickers. I looked, they are now on all buses. Bus 33 — it’s impossible to breathe inside. Shame on you, the Passenger Motor Transport Enterprise (PATP) and the transport department,” the post says.
Representatives of the city hall commented on the message. They stated that an air conditioner does not necessarily have to be installed in the bus.
“Air conditioners are optional additional equipment. Also, it should be noted that the inoperability of the air conditioning system is not included in the list of malfunctions that prohibit the operation of the vehicle.”
At the beginning of summer, authorities explained to our correspondent that sometimes cooling systems cannot be installed in vehicles for technical reasons.
