Officials comment on bus crash that demolished stop in Rostov center
A bus stop in central Rostov lies destroyed after a collision between two buses.
This morning on Budennovsky Street, 34 in Rostov, two buses collided. One of them knocked down a bus stop. The city administration«s press service commented on the incident.
According to eyewitnesses, the drivers of the buses were engaged in a race prior to the collision.
The structure was demolished by a bus that runs on route No. 27 — from the center to the Suvorovsky microdistrict. Before that, it collided with bus No. 83. Eyewitnesses report that the drivers were racing.
«As a result of the accident, there are no injured passengers. The buses sustained mechanical damage, the bus stop pavilion was destroyed. An inspection is being conducted into the accident, and the circumstances of the incident are being established,» the administration«s press service reports.
The bus stop pavilion will be replaced soon, authorities promise. The Rostov Region State Traffic Inspectorate (GAI) has not yet provided any comments.
