Novosibirsk residents name spots with uncleared bus stops and sidewalks
In Novosibirsk, after heavy snowfalls and frost, roads remain icy with uncleared sidewalks. Subscribers of NGS shared their observations, and officials quickly contacted the authors of the complaints. We have collected the residents« remarks and the authorities» responses.
Last week, NGS reported that on Tatyana Snezhina Street, public transport passengers have to be very careful when getting off buses onto the ice. Readers told us about this. We turned to city residents in our Telegram channel to collect addresses of other problematic spots.
«Remarks on the cleaning of the specified area have been forwarded to the Municipal State Institution «Oktyabrskoye» (MSI Oktyabrskoye) to eliminate the violations by 24 January,» wrote the official account of the city mayor«s office under the post.
«I fell when getting off trolleybus No. 5 at the «Theater Institute (Energy Palace of Culture)» bus stop towards Airport Street. My hip and elbow were hurt. It«s slippery, the road is dusted with snow, and underneath it is packed ice,» said Elena.
The administration of the Central District responded, reporting that the information had been forwarded to Road Maintenance Division No. 1 (DEU No. 1) to treat the area with anti-icing materials.
«It«s impossible to walk on Moskovskaya Street. The sidewalks have not been cleared once this winter from Avtogennaya to Nikitina, you have to crawl,» said Olga.
The information about this was forwarded to MSI «Oktyabrskoye» so that the problematic section would be included in the cleaning plan for the coming days.
«Kirovsky District, the «Dawn» bus stop — terrible ice,» added Lyudmila.
The administration of Kirovsky District reported that the remarks had been forwarded to road services.
«In Kirovsky District, all bus stops are icy,» noted Marina.
To this, the district administration responded that «snow removal at bus stop pavilions is carried out daily by manual and mechanized methods using anti-icing materials.»
«The «Red Torch Theater» bus stop, near «Manhattan», terrible ice!» complained Olga.

«I was at the Pedagogical University and jumped from a half-meter (1.6 ft) height at the «College» bus stop to catch the bus. At «Kommunstroyevskaya» I got off and went around because there is the same half-meter height to climb up. And it«s like that everywhere. At the »Dneprogesovskaya« bus stop, for example, there is an ice slide,» wrote a reader.

«Chelyuskintsev, Krasnoyarskaya [Street] — a sheer ice rink, elderly people are afraid to walk. Krasnoyarskaya is a narrow street, there are no pedestrian sidewalks, cars are driving, people have nowhere to go,» complained another subscriber.
The administration of the Central District also responded to this, saying that the remark had already been forwarded to Road Maintenance Division No. 1 (DEU No. 1).
On 23 January, NGS also reported that violations in road cleaning were found in the Oktyabrsky District.
