This morning, traffic jams formed again on the approaches to Gaidar Square. Last week, an additional traffic light was activated at the exit from Locomotive Street to separate traffic flows and reduce congestion, and today the traffic scheme was changed.

Traffic jams at Gaidar Square began to form after the overpass on Cosmonauts Highway was closed for a two-year repair. In October, new traffic lights were installed there, but the last one was only activated last Monday, January 19. Today, to get rid of daily traffic jams, the traffic scheme at Gaidar Square was changed.

Nevertheless, the approaches to Gaidar Square are again gripped by traffic jams: for example, from Locomotive Street, the congestion length is 712 meters, from Lenin Street — 564 meters, and from Yekaterininskaya Street — 410 meters. A reader of 59.RU reported that early in the morning there were also traffic jams, and neither the activation of the traffic light nor the change in traffic scheme saved the situation.

In mid-January, Maxim Kis, deputy head of the Center for Road Traffic Safety, threw up his hands at the traffic jams near Gaidar Square. Later, he told 59.RU how to get rid of traffic jams in that area.
