Moscow Launches Four New Bus Routes July 25

Starting July 25, four new routes from Moscow to the Moscow Region will be launched. Route 1280 will run from Skhodnenskaya metro station to the Weipark shopping center, while route 1288 will also depart from there but go to the Mortongrad residential complex (ZhK Mortongrad). Routes 1696 and 1699 start from Planernaya metro station, with the first stopping at Weipark and the second at Mortongrad. This was reported by the Moscow Department of Transport.

The buses will have a standard «Moscow — Region» sign on their body. The fare will vary depending on distance. To calculate the fare on routes 1280, 1288, and 1696, passengers need to tap their card when boarding and alighting.

Fare on route 1280 to the Weipark stop using the Troika card will be from 71 to 92 rubles ($1 each), and with a bank card from 76 to 87 rubles ($1). From 71 to 82 rubles ($1) by Troika and from 76 to 87 rubles ($1) by bank card on routes 1288 to Mortongrad and 1696 to Weipark.

Since routes 1280 and 1696 are circular, here are the fares for a full loop from the metro through Putilkovo and back to the metro:

By Troika card — from 71 to 119 rubles ($1) on route 1280 and from 71 to 110 rubles ($1) on route 1696.

By bank card — from 76 to 124 rubles ($1) on route 1280 and from 76 to 115 rubles ($1) on route 1696.

Fare on route 1699 is fixed, so you only need to tap your card when boarding. The cost will be 71 rubles by Troika ($1) and 76 rubles by bank card ($1).

The Strelka card will not work.

Residents of Putilkovo have already reacted to the news of the new routes. They hope the new system will bring order and regulate public transport movement.

«Finally, no more queues for payment, no more transfers to who knows where, no more mothers caught in doors, no more teenagers humiliated by drivers. At least some respect for people…», wrote Vyacheslav.

But it is not yet clear whether there will be routes that not only run along the ring road but also enter the center of the district. Residents hope that the usual minibuses will not be removed, or at least replaced with new Moscow buses.

«Fine, they go along the ring road, but now nothing will go to the center of the district? I also see more pros in this, but the fact that they won‘t enter the district is a minus, and if they also remove the minibuses, it will be a drag,» shared a local resident on social media.

It is expected that by 2028, Moscow‘s carrier Mosgortrans will be handed at least a third of the adjacent routes in the Moscow Region. Earlier, MSK1.RU discussed this idea with experts. Mosgortrans began entering regional routes in the summer of 2025. Over the year, the enterprise launched routes to Khimki, Odintsovo, Krasnoznamensk, and other cities and districts.
