Major road works to start in two Moscow districts

Major road construction and repair will begin in Kommunarka and Yuzhnoye Butovo. As announced by Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, the works will take place in the area of the fourth section of the Solntsevo–Butovo–Varshavskoye Highway. It runs from the Novomoscovskaya station on the Sokolnicheskaya metro line to Polyany Street.

Authorities plan to build a section of a main street from Projected Passage No. 816 to Bartenevskaya Street. They will also construct an overpass across the Solntsevo–Butovo–Varshavskoye Highway.
The project also includes building ramps from the overpass and a set of works on Bartenevskaya Street, including restoring its roadway and reconstructing the side passage. «We will make bicycle lanes on Polyany Street,» the statement says.
In addition, workers will reconstruct several road sections:
a section of Polyany Street from the exit from the Solntsevo–Butovo–Varshavskoye Highway to house No. 42 on Polyany Street;
a section of Kuprin Avenue from the Solntsevo–Butovo–Varshavskoye Highway to Projected Passage No. 7048;
a section of Alexandra Monakhova Street from the Solntsevo–Butovo–Varshavskoye Highway to Kuprin Avenue.
All works are planned to be completed in 2027. It is noted that residents of New Moscow will find it easier to reach the Potapovo station on the Sokolnicheskaya line after the changes.
Recently in New Moscow, a section of Kommunarskoye Highway was opened from Projected Passage No. 812 to the Solntsevo–Butovo–Varshavskoye Highway. The road has become a duplicate of Kaluga Highway.
