The State Traffic Inspectorate of Ryazan Oblast has reported a temporary restriction on vehicle movement in the Sasovsky District. Passage is limited on a section of the federal highway M-5 «Ural» between the villages of Saltikovo and Shaftorka.
The measure was introduced due to deteriorating weather conditions and is aimed at ensuring road safety. Traffic police officers are working on site. An inspection is being conducted regarding the owner of the road section, following which they may be held liable in accordance with current legislation.
The Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) for Ryazan Oblast clarified that on February 2, due to adverse weather conditions, movement restrictions arose on a section of the highway. The situation was complicated by the formation of a backlog of heavy trucks and passenger cars in both directions. Thirty-eight people and 20 pieces of equipment have been deployed to eliminate the consequences and clear the traffic jam.
Motorists are asked to take this information into account when planning their route, choose speed based on road conditions, maintain a safe distance, and exercise increased caution on the road.
Also, on the M-5 highway, there is a two-hour traffic jam on the section from Umet in the Republic of Mordovia to Shatsk in Ryazan Oblast. Readers of YA62.RU write that there has been almost no movement since last Saturday.
