“We’re flying off on vacation expecting beauty, and here… You definitely won’t find such an international airport anywhere else. It looks like a school or some kind of cultural institution,” she commented on the video.

The blogger noted that this impression was created due to mirrors on columns, wrought-iron seats, and the size of the airport terminal.

She also showed a souvenir kiosk that, according to her, never works, a sloped floor, demonstrated the departure and arrival areas, as well as the waiting hall.

It is worth noting that the international terminal of Irkutsk Airport often attracts criticism. Journalist Alina Rinchinо from the portal “IrCity” also shared her opinion about it. However, the domestic terminal also draws complaints from tourists, as did blogger Denis Zabelin. Tourists also shared impressions of the new arrival terminal.

Recall also that for several years now, there have been discussions in Irkutsk about building a new airport, and only in 2025 did it become known that the site was finally approved. The construction of the century is set to begin in 2028.
