By early autumn, 37 large-capacity gas buses manufactured by LiAZ will arrive in Kuzbass. The regional administration announced the cost on Tuesday, 21 July.

As the region«s governor noted, the price dropped from the market rate of 18 million to 12 million rubles per bus following open bidding. Ultimately, the total contract value stood at 444 million rubles (about $5.2 million at current rates), to be funded from the regional budget. The initial tender, opened in early July, was launched at 561 million rubles (about $6.6 million).

The governor also noted that the technical specifications were deliberately set to allow vehicles from several manufacturers to participate in the bidding.

The preliminary winner is the LiAZ plant. The savings of over 120 million rubles (about $1.4 million) will be used to purchase additional scheduled buses.

The LiAZ 529267 buses feature 30 seats in the cabin and can accommodate 112 passengers. They are equipped with wheelchair spaces, ramps, driver call buttons, intercoms, modern air conditioning, and heaters.

Earlier, the NGS42.RU newsroom reported that fuel prices in the region have risen, including gas.
