A key section of the Kursk–Voronezh highway has been widened to four lanes. This was reported by the regional Ministry of Industry and Transport.
In the region, a section of the highway from the 196th to the 209th kilometer was reconstructed. During the work, new pavement was laid, barrier fences and lighting systems were installed, and modern interchanges and overpasses were built.
In addition to the Voronezh section, large-scale work was carried out on highways in the Nizhny Novgorod, Oryol, Tula, Chelyabinsk, and Leningrad regions. In total, over 120 km of roads were widened as part of the reconstruction, with another 190 km undergoing major repairs.
The expansion of key highways is aimed at improving road safety, reducing travel time, and lowering accident rates.
