Gasoline queues shrink in Arkhangelsk: what is happening at gas stations

Residents of Arkhangelsk and Novodvinsk have noticed that queues for gasoline at local gas stations are getting shorter. According to the traffic jam map of Arkhangelsk, as of the morning of July 20, cars are not lining up for fuel.

Drivers are discussing the situation at gas stations in social networks and closed chats. According to their data, over the weekend and on Monday morning, there is fuel at the stations, but there are far fewer cars than before.

— I drove past Tatneft near the bridge and Lukoil on Obvodny. Everywhere has everything except 100-octane gasoline, and there are no queues at all. Could they have really drunk it all? — asks Konstantin.

— Everything is reasonable everywhere. There was gasoline yesterday, I don«t think it was eaten instead of lunch, because there were few people, — adds Ilya.

— Tatneft, Okruzhnaya — no queue, everything is available, — helps others Mikhail.

— When there was a rush, I stood in line in Novodvinsk for about an hour and a half, — says Sergey. — But on Saturday I drove — the queue was much shorter. In Arkhangelsk, I also didn«t see many cars, either on Moskovsky or on Obvodny. Probably, they brought in gasoline, and the hype is subsiding: those who wanted to have already filled up their supply. And also, apparently, the volume restrictions are working.

More on the fuel shortage

In recent weeks, searching for gasoline and multi-hour waits in lines have become commonplace for residents of Arkhangelsk. High gasoline prices were noticed at gas stations in Pinezhye, in Onega, Arkhangelsk, and also in the Leshukonsky district (there it is the most expensive — 150 rubles per liter, about $2 at current rates). We spoke with drivers at city gas stations and learned how they have adapted to the new reality.

Meanwhile, at the Tatneft gas station in Arkhangelsk, since July 16, they have stopped selling gasoline into canisters. Previously, stations had a limit — only 20 liters could be filled at a time.

Earlier, 92 tank cars of fuel were sent to the Arkhangelsk region. Some are to be delivered to remote districts, including Pinezhye, where only two gas stations remain, which are temporarily serving only special equipment and buses.

In the Onega district, they decided to temporarily reduce passenger transportation by sea vessels due to a shortage of diesel fuel. Small aircraft in Russia have also faced problems due to the shortage: we found out what is happening in Arkhangelsk.
