Gasoline Prices Top 110 Rubles in Sverdlovsk Oblast

Fuel at gas stations in Sverdlovsk Oblast continues to rise in price. While in the regional capital drivers can still buy gasoline after waiting in line, shortages are felt much more acutely in outlying areas.

Correspondents from E1.RU traveled along the Rezh Highway and photographed several gas stations. The most expensive gasoline was at Varta, where 92-octane and 95-octane were priced at 110 rubles (differing by a few kopecks). However, most stations had no fuel at all!

Earlier, the press service of the Ural branch of the Bank of Russia reported that in June 2026, price growth in Sverdlovsk Oblast accelerated to 6.9%, mainly due to the increase in motor fuel prices.

«The rise in motor fuel prices was due to increased seasonal demand, which coincided with a temporary reduction in supply because of repairs at some oil refineries,» noted the Ural branch of the Bank of Russia.

However, amid accelerating inflation in the region, prices for some food products unexpectedly fell. For example, eggs, dairy products, and cheeses became cheaper, mainly due to increased production. Additionally, household appliances, particularly televisions and electric drills, became cheaper due to restrained consumer demand. The strengthening of the ruble in previous months also affected the price dynamics.

Earlier, Yekaterinburg residents debated whether to ban the sale of gasoline in canisters. City residents are increasingly annoyed by drivers who fill canisters at gas stations. According to many motorists, it is because of them that queues at gas stations grow and waiting becomes tiresome.

Fuel problems began in Sverdlovsk Oblast in late June. Drivers then noticed that gas stations were running empty and prices were rising. In various cities of Sverdlovsk Oblast, drivers are still standing in lines.

Amid these events, interest in electric cars and hybrids has grown among Urals residents. Such vehicles generated the most interest among visitors to the Innoprom exhibition recently held in Yekaterinburg.
