FPC delays Moscow-Volgograd train due to derailment

The Federal Passenger Company has postponed the departure of its flagship train No. 1 from Moscow to Volgograd by nearly six hours due to a derailment of gasoline tankers near Tambov.

Federal Passenger Company (FPC) has announced a postponement of the departure time of its flagship train No. 1 on the Moscow – Volgograd route. The information appeared on the carrier’s Telegram channel.
«Due to the ongoing work at Kochetovka-2 station in Tambov Region, adjustments are being made to the movement of several FPC trains, — the statement read. — The departure time of several trains is being changed on 5 February.»
One of the trains that will depart significantly later than its scheduled time is train No. 1 on the Moscow – Volgograd route. The train will leave for Volgograd no earlier than 19:00, against its scheduled departure time of 13:50. There has been no announcement about a change in departure time for train No. 15/16 on the Moscow – Volgograd route, which is scheduled to leave Paveletsky Station at 20:10.
«Passengers are informed of all changes via SMS, — the FPC statement read.
Passengers on trains delayed by more than four hours are provided with meals. Railway workers are doing everything possible to reduce train delays and restore traffic.»
Let us recall that on the evening of 4 February, at Kochetovka-2 station of the Tambov section of the Southeastern Railway, a derailment of tank cars with gasoline and gas occurred, followed by a fire. Six hours later, the fire was reported to have been contained, but no information about its complete extinguishment has been received. Meanwhile, passengers of the delayed trains told what is happening in the carriages of the trains.
