Flipped car remains on road in Yekaterinburg for three days

On the roadway near house No. 6 on Shefskaya Street in Yekaterinburg, a flipped car has been lying for three days. According to local residents, the vehicle«s owner has not shown up. One wheel has already been removed from the car, and it is likely that the car will be dismantled for parts rather than officially towed.

Witnesses report that the abandoned car is seriously hindering traffic, blocking the right lane. Mapping services indicate that the car is located on the roadway, not in a parking bay.
«In the morning, there are traffic jams, and you can only move in the left lane. No services have been on site, and there is complete inaction,» said one local resident.
The Yekaterinburg State Traffic Inspectorate has stated that an investigation is being conducted into the matter.
However, auto expert Dmitry Larionov explained that the car can remain on the road for an extended period if parking is not prohibited in that area.
«In this situation, the standard rules for stopping and parking apply. Traffic regulations do not specify what position the car should be in. If parking is allowed here, there is no violation. Towing is only possible if there is a sign prohibiting parking and a plate reading »Towing in operation,«» explained Dmitry Larionov.
The expert added that residents can attempt to find the car«s owner themselves. If there are legal grounds for towing, they have the right to contact the traffic police.
