At Volgograd International Airport, there are delays for flights arriving from Moscow. This concerns two flights from the airline Pobeda: DP6965 and DP6967.
According to the airport«s online board, flight DP6965, which was scheduled to arrive at 10:35, is now expected at 12:15. Information about the second flight, DP6967, varies: the Volgograd board shows its delay from 16:15 to 17:25, while on Sheremetyevo Airport»s website it is listed as cancelled.
The schedule problems are related to complex weather conditions in Moscow. The day before, Aeroflot and Pobeda warned passengers about heavy snowfall in the region and a switch to enhanced operation mode. «Due to the expected increase in load on ground services and the need for constant clearing of the apron and runways, there may be an increase in the time for preparing aircraft for departure and servicing arriving flights,» the messages said. «We recommend our customers to head to the airport early, taking into account the traffic situation, and to check flight statuses by any convenient means.»
According to weather services, Sheremetyevo Airport is currently experiencing heavy snow, and the runway is slippery.
Previously, airlines have already faced operational disruptions due to a global glitch in the Leonardo booking system, which also led to delays and flight cancellations.
