Flights delayed in Volgograd due to system failure

At Volgograd Airport, delays are noted for arrivals from the capital and St. Petersburg.
Information on schedule changes is displayed on the online board of Volgograd International Airport.
The presumed cause of the delays is a massive failure in the Leonardo reservation system.
According to information on the board, the following changes have occurred:
- Flight SU6115 by airline «Rossiya», arriving from St. Petersburg, is delayed by approximately 40 minutes. The plane was scheduled to arrive at 17:35, but is now expected at 18:15.
- The arrival time for flight DP6969 from Moscow has also been changed. According to schedule, the flight was to arrive at 20:20, but the actual arrival time has been pushed to 20:55, resulting in a 35-minute delay.
Earlier on January 26, airlines Aeroflot, Pobeda, and Rossiya officially announced a global failure in the Leonardo reservation system. In their statements, they said: «Passenger and baggage check-in, ticket issuance, reissuance, and refund of tickets and additional services are temporarily limited in all sales channels of the airline. Schedule adjustments are possible. Currently, the service provider is taking measures to restore normal system operation as soon as possible.»
Representatives of Volgograd International Airport clarified that passengers are being informed about the situation via loudspeaker announcements.
The «Leonardo» platform is a Russian development that complies with the standards of the International Air Transport Association. According to Rostec, it is used by over 60 domestic airlines. In the summer of 2025, Rostec reported on the creation of a competence center for implementing the system in Latin American countries, including a successful project with the Venezuelan airline Conviasa S.A.
