First trolleybuses introduced to Yekaterinburg's ZhBI district

On ZhBI on Sunday morning, the first trolleybus arrived. It was route No. 25. The electric vehicle departed from the terminal at 40 Let VLKSM exactly on schedule, at 06:19 a.m.

An E1.RU correspondent was one of two passengers who were at the stop at this early hour. Gortrans employees said that on weekends, 5 vehicles will operate on the route, and on weekdays — 6.

The idea of sending trolleybus No. 25 to ZhBI had been considered by the city administration for a long time, but there was no opportunity to implement it because the microdistrict lacked a contact network for trolleybuses. However, now everything has changed: electric vehicles will reach 40 Let Komsomola thanks to batteries that provide them with autonomous operation.

Note that trolleybus No. 25 replaced the canceled bus route No. 25, which ran from Technopark Universitetskogo through the center to Mega. The changes took effect on February 1, 2026, when new municipal contracts came into force.

Updated route No. 25 Kraulya — 40 Let VLKSM:

in the forward direction: Kraulya — Repina — Malysheva — Vysotskogo — 40 Let VLKSM;

in the reverse direction: 40 Let VLKSM — Vysotskogo — Malysheva — Repina — Kraulya.

Also, the old version of trolleybus route No. 25, which ran from Botaniki to Vtuzgorodok, was abolished.
