Finally, Tyumen to Build Dedicated Bus Lane on Chervishevsky Tract

Buses could become faster than private vehicles.
Tyumen authorities have decided to start combating traffic jams on Chervishevsky Tract. Due to high road congestion and frequent bus schedule disruptions, officials plan to install a dedicated lane for buses from Maurice Thorez Street to the Bypass Road. This was reported by the Tyumen Department of Transport.
«Considering the residential development in the Chervishevsky Tract area, dedicated lanes are planned for the section from Maurice Thorez Street to the Tyumen City Bypass road in the future. This will reduce travel time on this part of the road network and minimize significant deviations from the schedule,» the department stated.
Traffic jams on Chervishevsky Tract often anger residents. To travel a few kilometers, people spend about 40 minutes daily. For years, we have been asking officials about why there is still no dedicated bus lane on this busy road and about plans for its installation.
For example, in December, officials shared plans for new dedicated lanes, but Chervishevsky Tract was again absent from the address list. Then in January, authorities promised to consider the possibility of installing them, but noted that discussing implementation timelines is premature.
