Dimitrovsky Bridge completes toughest repair stage — what next?

On the Dimitrovsky Bridge in Novosibirsk, repairs to the right lane for traffic exiting the left bank have been completed. Cars are now being redirected from the middle section of the road, where the final stage of resurfacing work begins. It is scheduled to be finished by September 30. This was reported on July 21 at the weekly staff meeting by Alexander Stefanov, head of the municipal road improvement department for Novosibirsk.
“We have fully completed the second stage. The work was accepted without any complaints. This was the most difficult stage because it involved restoring the cantilever section, railings, barrier and parapet fences, as well as the sidewalk. We have now switched the work to the middle section. This is the third and final stage of work on the bridge structure as far as the pavement is concerned,” said Alexander Stefanov.
The contractor has now begun dismantling work on the middle section of the bridge. According to the plan, the third stage of repairs should be completed by September 30.
“I ask that attention be paid to informing residents about changes to the traffic schedule and to compensatory measures so that traffic flows comfortably and inconveniences for residents of the city of Novosibirsk are minimized,” instructed Maxim Kudryavtsev.
Earlier we reported that on the Dimitrovsky Bridge in Novosibirsk, a pedestrian zone was opened in the direction of the right bank. The roadway there was divided by concrete blocks into three sections.
