On the 18R-1 highway in the Leninsky District of Volgograd Oblast, a concrete mixer overturned. The driver of the vehicle stated that the cause of the incident was black ice, formed because road services did not spread sand.
Earlier, a combined road vehicle was caught on video, which, despite having a full load of sand, was not dumping it onto the wet surface. «There goes the KDM, loaded with sand. You can see a pile of sand on top. The auger isn»t turning. The black ice is terrible. Dust is flying, and black ice,« says a voice off-screen.
Ten minutes after the filming, a concrete mixer overturned on the same section. It was the first in a convoy that decided to change its route after the incident.
The driver of the affected vehicle said that representatives of the road service arrived at the scene. When asked why they don«t treat the road, they replied: »Why should we?« He said that such negligent attitude has been going on for more than a day. Local sellers reported other cases: near the village of Kolobovka, trucks are struggling to climb the slope, one of them also overturned, and a bread delivery vehicle slid off the road.
There were no injuries in the accident with the concrete mixer, but the driver may have to compensate for the cost of the spilled concrete out of his own pocket.
The editorial office of V1.RU sent the video to the Committee of Transport and Road Infrastructure of Volgograd Oblast with a request to explain why the road in the Leninsky District is not treated with sand or anti-icing agents.
