City recruits drivers from other cities for trolleybus 24

Trolleybus 24 once provided better transportation access for Rodniki residents.
On route No. 24 from the Severnaya Korona residential complex to the Stanislavsky microdistrict, 18-19 vehicles have been operating since January 26. It is planned that 34 trolleybuses should be deployed. Residents of the Rodniki neighborhood have been complaining for several weeks about long waits for the trolleybus.
The press center of the Novosibirsk city hall reported that route No. 24 is short of 32 trolleybus drivers.
«The municipal unitary enterprise »GET« (Urban Electric Transport) has sent appeals to employment centers in seventeen cities across Russia, and letters are also being sent to enterprises in various cities where trolleybus traffic was closed,» the city hall said.
In December 2025, the salaries of trolleybus and tram drivers were indexed. The possibility of compensating for housing rental costs has also been considered. Additionally, one-time payments have been introduced for trolleybus drivers upon completion of their first year of work.
From December 15, when the ban on involving foreign citizens in driving public transport came into effect, until January 28, 22 drivers were hired by GET, of which 17 people were hired by the Leninsky trolleybus branch.
In Novosibirsk, bus No. 9 from Kolyvanskaya to the Yugo-Zapadny microdistrict runs irregularly due to a shortage of drivers. Passengers are transported on old PAZ buses.
