On Saturday morning, January 24, suburban train No. 7005/7025, traveling from Chelyabinsk to Verkhny Ufaley, was stuck for several hours on the Bizhelyak-Kyshtym section of the South Ural Railway.

The train«s arrival in Verkhny Ufaley was delayed by 3.5 hours.

The transport prosecutor«s office reported:
»On January 24, on the Bizhelyak-Kyshtym section of the South Ural Railway, due to a technical malfunction of suburban train No. 7005/7025, traveling from Chelyabinsk to Verkhny Ufaley, its forced stop occurred. Currently, passengers are boarding an auxiliary rolling stock.«
The supervisory authority has launched an investigation into the incident, with particular attention to the observance of passengers« rights.
This is already the second case in January 2024 when passengers on the Chelyabinsk-Yekaterinburg commuter train route have been blocked en route due to a breakdown.
