Tomorrow, February 2, starting at 8 a.m., the dedicated lane for public transport on Nikolaevsky Bridge toward the Oktyabrsky District will be canceled. This is a temporary measure, lasting until 11 p.m. on February 16.

On this section, road signs will be removed, and cameras will no longer record driving in the bus lane as a violation. Other traffic violations will continue to be recorded.

City authorities launched this experiment due to driver complaints about traffic jams when exiting Tikhie Zori. Now they want to analyze how canceling the bus lane will affect the traffic situation.

Computer modeling showed that installing traffic lights or other local measures would not significantly improve the situation. Therefore, they decided to try to redistribute traffic. For the two weeks of the experiment, traffic police crews will be on duty at the exits from Tikhie Zori.

Based on the monitoring results, the department will decide whether to permanently remove the bus lane on Nikolaevsky Bridge.

In December, it became known that the mayor«s office will seize 18 plots for road construction in Tikhie Zori.
