In Ufa, new public transport fares took effect on February 1. As previously announced, prices were set to rise for buses operated by Bashavtotrans and several private carriers.
Previously, ticket prices ranged from 41 to 45 rubles (about $0.46-$0.50 at current rates), but now the state carrier will charge 46 rubles (about $0.51). Regional authorities called the measures necessary, citing rising costs for fuel, spare parts, and bus maintenance. On the «Alga» route, Bashavtotrans fares are 42 rubles (about $0.47).
Following the state carrier, private operators also decided to raise prices. Some even surpassed Bashavtotrans and increased fares to 50 rubles (about $0.56 at current rates).
We have compiled how transport fares in Ufa have changed over the past 15 years in this article. And here we compared our tariffs with neighboring cities; spoiler: we have caught up with Kazan and are higher than all others in cost.
