Bus accident in central Rostov-on-Don: driver failed to brake
Traffic police have revealed the cause of a morning accident on Budennovsky Avenue. The driver of one bus could not manage braking, according to the authorities.

A collision between two passenger buses occurred in the center of Rostov-on-Don. According to the press service of the regional traffic police, the cause of the accident was an abnormal activation of the braking system.
The collision resulted in damage to a public transport stop and other vehicles.

The road traffic accident happened on January 26 at 8:40 AM on Budennovsky Avenue near house number 34.
The State Traffic Inspectorate explained: «The driver born in 1955, while operating passenger bus No. 27 during the release of the vehicle from the handbrake, allowed a collision with passenger bus No. 83 driven by a driver born in 1979.»
After the first impact, bus route No. 27 was thrown onto a passenger stop and a pole, after which it crashed into a Gazelle vehicle.
No one was injured in the incident. Police are currently investigating all the circumstances of what happened.
City authorities had previously stated plans to quickly restore the damaged public transport stop.
