Burning truck paralyzes traffic in Volgograd
In the Dzerzhinsky district of Volgograd on Istoricheskaya Street, a truck caught fire, leading to a serious traffic jam. The incident occurred opposite house No. 2a on Krasnopolyanskaya Street.
In a video recorded by eyewitnesses, it can be seen that the truck is parked at the edge of the roadway. Its rear doors are open, and the cabin is engulfed in flames, noticeable even in the fog. The footage also shows a vehicle from the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (GU MVD) for the Volgograd Region.
«It»s burning on Istoricheskaya Street,« witnesses said. »It«s unclear what happened, but it seems it didn»t crash into anyone or anything, and why it caught fire on its own is unknown. Only the traffic police arrived; the others—ambulance, fire department, emergency services—are not visible.«
According to information from the service «Yandex Maps,» traffic on Istoricheskaya Street is difficult in both directions. A traffic jam has also formed on the exit to Krasnopolyanskaya Street.
The Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS) for the Volgograd Region commented on the situation.
«The report of a fire in the Dzerzhinsky district of Volgograd was received at 13:49. At 13:59, the fire was extinguished by the unit of the 15th Fire and Rescue Station. The cause and area of the fire are being determined,»the department stated.
The circumstances of the incident are currently being investigated by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Volgograd Region.
Earlier in Volgograd, a similar incident occurred: a car burned in the parking lot of the Akvarel shopping and entertainment center. It took firefighters about an hour to extinguish it, and numerous onlookers gathered around, filming the event on video.
