Burning truck causes traffic jam in Volgograd — video
The burning truck caused a traffic jam on Istoricheskaya and Krasnopolyanskaya streets in Volgograd.
In the Dzerzhinsky district of Volgograd, on Istoricheskaya Street, a traffic jam has formed. The cause was a truck burning opposite the house at 2a Krasnopolyanskaya Street. Eyewitnesses report that the State Traffic Inspectorate is working at the scene.
Traffic is particularly difficult from the Central District towards the incident site.
As seen in the footage sent by readers, the truck is standing on the outer lane. Its rear doors are open, and the front part along with the driver«s cab is ablaze — in the fog, the fire can be seen from afar. The video indeed captured a vehicle of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Volgograd Region. According to readers, no other services are at the scene.
Readers provided video footage showing the burning truck and the traffic congestion.
«It»s burning on Istoricheskaya Street,« readers say. »It«s unclear what happened, but it seems it didn»t crash into anyone or anything, and why it caught fire itself is unknown. Only the traffic police arrived, the others — ambulance, fire service, Ministry of Emergency Situations — are not visible.«
According to data from Yandex Maps, traffic is hampered in both directions on Istoricheskaya Street. Also, a traffic jam has formed on the exit from Istoricheskaya to Krasnopolyanskaya Street.
Later, the situation was commented on by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for Volgograd Region.
«The report of the fire in the Dzerzhinsky district of Volgograd was received at 13:49. At 13:59, the fire was extinguished by the 15th Fire and Rescue Unit. The cause and area of the fire are being determined,» the department reported.
The editorial office of V1.RU is clarifying the circumstances of the incident with the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Volgograd Region.
Recall that recently a car burned on the parking lot of the Akvarel shopping center. It was extinguished in just under an hour, and during that time, many passers-by gathered around the fire, including readers of V1.RU, who filmed it on video.
