Are Perm's new trams second-hand from Moscow?

Passengers in Perm are surprised to notice Moscow transport logos on the screens inside trams. Some have begun to speculate that our city is using old trams from the capital instead of new ones. Let«s find out if that»s the case.

Since 2019, single-section «Lvyonok» (Lion Cub) model trams and one three-section «Lev» (Lion) have been operating on Perm«s streets. Their cabins are equipped with media panels that show route information and other social information. Sometimes passengers notice the logos of Moscow Transport and Mosgortrans there.

«They said Perm was buying only new buses and trams. So they aren»t new? Why is this even popping up on Perm routes?« — asked one of the subscribers of @news59ru on Telegram.
Transport correspondent 59.RU asked the press service of the «PK TS» plant, which manufactures these trams, to clarify the situation. They stated they are not responsible for the information shown to passengers on the screens.
«We, as the manufacturer, have nothing to do with the content broadcast on the monitors. This is done remotely either by the operating organization itself, or there is a contractor who »uploads« this information to the monitors. Most likely, this is just a glitch or some kind of failure during the content »upload« stage,» — suggested a representative of «PK TS».
The situation was clarified in response to a request from 59.RU by «Permgorelectrans» (Perm City Electric Transport). They explained that the Moscow transport interface is sometimes displayed by mistake.
«This happens at the moment of losing connection with the local operator»s network, when the system reboots, the screen displays the «factory» version of the interface installed by the manufacturer,« — 59.RU was told by »PGET«. — »This is a technical feature of the software at the moment of connection restoration.«
At the same time, «PGET» confirmed that both the trams and their media panels were purchased new from the factories. This equipment was not previously used in Moscow.
