Passengers on trains passing through the Nizhny Novgorod Region and Chuvashia encountered significant delays. The press service of the Gorky Railway (GZD) confirmed the schedule disruptions.

As company representatives explained, the deviations from the schedule on February 1 were caused by anomalous snowfalls.

The following trains were delayed:

  • No. 71 Cheboksary — Moscow (delay of 2 hours 32 minutes);
  • No. 25 Izhevsk — Moscow (delay of 1 hour 42 minutes);
  • No. 128 Moscow — Kazan (delay of 2 hours 40 minutes);
  • No. 129 Kazan — Moscow (delay of 1 hour 11 minutes);
  • No. 111 Krugloye Pole — Moscow (delay of 1 hour 55 minutes);
  • No. 57 Yoshkar-Ola — Moscow (delay of 1 hour 48 minutes).

All these trains pass in transit through the Nizhny Novgorod Region. By now, they have already arrived at their final destinations, and the management of GZD apologized to passengers for the inconvenience caused.

Heavy snowfalls also caused disruptions in the work of urban transport in Nizhny Novgorod. For example, tram route No. 8 derailed due to untimely cleaning of the tracks. To return the carriage to the line, the intervention of utility services was required.
