Almost Half of Passengers on Emergency-Landed Plane Return to Tashkent

About half of the passengers on a Boeing 767-300 operated by Uzbekistan Airways, which made an emergency landing in Krasnoyarsk the day before, flew to Tashkent on the morning of 22 January, according to NGS24.RU citing the airport press service. The others headed to their original destination—Vladivostok.

48 passengers arrived in Tashkent on a reserve Uzbekistan Airways flight—apparently, these are Uzbek citizens who had to go through customs procedures again. The others were rebooked on a Rossiya flight to Vladivostok, and they have also already departed, the press service clarified.

There were 122 people on board the emergency-landed plane the day before: 101 passengers, five flight crew members, and 16 flight attendants. Initially, they were accommodated in the terminal«s common area, then moved to hotels. It was reported that a reserve aircraft from Uzbekistan Airways would arrive in Krasnoyarsk on the night of 22 January. The aircraft that made the emergency landing at Krasnoyarsk Airport has been grounded pending completion of a technical inspection.

The Boeing 767-300 aircraft of Uzbekistan Airways departed from Tashkent the day before at 9:40 local time. It was scheduled to land in Vladivostok at 21:40. However, the aircraft made an emergency landing in Krasnoyarsk at 14:46 local time «due to technical reasons.» The Krasnoyarsk Transport Prosecutor«s Office has organized an investigation.

Earlier, NGS24.RU reported that a plane operating a flight from Krasnoyarsk to Sochi returned to the departure airport. A technical malfunction was discovered on the aircraft.
