On Friday evening, January 30, Yaroslavl faced massive traffic jams. The Yandex Maps service assigned the traffic situation the maximum rating of eight points.

One resident reported to the editorial office of 76.RU: «I»ve been on the bus from Oktyabrskaya Square for about an hour and still haven«t reached Bogoyavlenskaya Square.»
The worst traffic formed in the city center. Passage is difficult on the following streets:
- Sovetskaya
- Ushinskogo
- Respublikanskaya
- Pobedy
- Komsomolskaya
- Bolshaya Oktyabrskaya

A particularly dense traffic jam formed on Moskovsky Prospekt on the section from the bridge to the railway station. According to mapping services, three accidents occurred here: on the bridge itself, at the exit from Pescochnaya Street, and near the station. Problems were added on Frunze Prospekt, where traffic is also heavily slowed.
Many social media users linked the traffic jams to the evening home match of the hockey club Lokomotiv. At Arena-2000, the «railwaymen» were supposed to play against Tolyatti«s Lada.
