Tuesday, July 21, promises Voronezh residents another «sunstroke»: according to forecasters, some areas in the region will see scorching heat up to 35°C (95°F), prompting a storm warning. The Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) for Voronezh Oblast said the hottest hour will be from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
In Voronezh, daytime temperatures on July 21 are expected to be +27 to +29°C (81-84°F) with brief rain and thunderstorms. Further on, meteorologists even promise a slight cooling: Wednesday up to +28°C (82°F) and cloudy, Thursday and Friday — «only» up to 25-26°C (77-79°F) with thunderstorms.

Six people died, more than 500 were left homeless. And 61 years ago, on July 20, 1965, residents of the capital of the Black Earth Region cooled off at +6 to +7°C (43-45°F).
