In many gardens and settlements of Sverdlovsk Oblast, rains and storms have negatively affected the harvest and the condition of houses. Correspondents from E1.RU came to the South Bus Terminal in Yekaterinburg to speak with gardeners about how their vegetables are growing in the beds. In the queues for buses, both optimists and pessimists were encountered.

An elderly woman sitting on a bench with large bags of seedlings while waiting for her bus shared: «My garden is on the way to Sysert (Sverdlovsk Oblast), it wasn»t heavily flooded there. But everything is rotting because of the water, I don«t even know how much loss I»ve suffered.«
Residents of Yekaterinburg continue to travel en masse to their gardens despite the rain.

An energetic woman named Galina was heading to her garden and told E1.RU: «My dacha (summer house) is in Sukhoy Log. I grow vegetables, various greens. Overall, expectations for the harvest are not bad, but potatoes are letting me down — everything will rot due to the rains. Our dacha is on a hill, so the floods didn»t affect us much. But my daughter«s harvest is bad — they have a house in Nevyansk, the potatoes are all black. And there are no mushrooms this year either.»

In other Sverdlovsk settlements, the situation is similar — for example, gardeners from Bilimbay and Polevskoy told us the same. However, Svetlana from Arti shared that not all the harvest is doomed: «In greenhouses, of course, conditions are better, cucumbers and tomatoes are not bad.»
«My dacha is in the village of Bisert. I»m hoping for good cucumbers and tomatoes. Cabbage, beets, all vegetables are generally not bad. But there will be no potatoes for anyone this year — storms and rains prevented it. There are many berries, but they are rotting: strawberries are all rotten, the berries are very watery. We had no flooding in the house, we live on a hill,« shared gardener Tamara.
Tatiana reported that the village of Kadnikovo was heavily flooded, people walk as if through a swamp:
«As soon as the carrots come up, it rains and they fall over. You walk and your feet sink — we»ve never had a year like this!« the gardener told E1.RU.
«Our dacha is in Gorny Shchit. There will be no harvest at all this year, everything is rotting: zucchini, berries, potatoes. Everything is completely flooded this year,» shared gardener Galina with frustration.
Gardeners this season are suffering serious losses. Downpours are flooding the beds — probably, a good harvest cannot be expected this season, but optimistic gardeners hope for an improvement in the weather.
