A thunderstorm and strong winds will hit Yaroslavl Oblast on the afternoon of July 21. The regional branch of the Russian Emergency Situations System (RSChS) warned of the worsening weather.

According to the message, the thunderstorm will be accompanied by heavy rain and hail in some areas. Wind gusts are forecast to increase to 12–17 meters per second. This weather is expected to last until 9 PM July 21.

«Due to adverse weather phenomena, try not to stay near trees, power lines, poorly secured structures, and avoid parking your personal vehicles near them,» the RSChS warning said.

According to the Yandex.Weather service, a cloud is moving toward Yaroslavl Oblast from Moscow. Precipitation is expected after noon. According to the forecast, by evening rain will fall across the entire region.

According to the Russian Hydrometeorological Center (Hydrometcenter), despite the precipitation, it will be hot in Yaroslavl Oblast on July 21. Temperatures will rise to +28 °C (82°F) during the day. On the night of July 22, rain is also expected, and temperatures will drop to +16 °C (61°F).

According to experts from the Fobos weather center, local downpours will also occur in Moscow this week. However, no significant cooling due to precipitation is expected in the capital.

«The temperature regime will be close to normal: +23…+25 °C (73–77°F) with occasional cooling to +22 °C (72°F) on Friday,» Fobos clarified.
