Rain and Hail Set for Novosibirsk, Forecasters Warn

Novosibirsk expects rain over several days. Severe thunderstorms with hail will mainly affect the southern part of the region, but precipitation is also expected in the city. This was reported by the West Siberian Hydrometeorological Service (UGMS) on July 21.

«Tomorrow in the city we expect brief rain. And locally heavy rain in the afternoon of July 23,» explained Natalya Kichanova, head of the weather forecasting department at the West Siberian Hydrometeorological Service (UGMS). «We do not expect a repeat of last Friday»s weather.«

Cyclonic formations from the Omsk and Tomsk regions are expected to merge on July 22–23 and cover the entire territory of the Novosibirsk region. In the south of the region on July 22, locally heavy rain, thunderstorms, with very heavy rain and downpours during thunderstorms, large hail, and wind increasing to 17–22 m/s, with gusts of 25 m/s or more during thunderstorms.
