The day of Prokopiy the Reaper, as well as the feast of the Appearance of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, is celebrated on July 21. It is believed that on this day the main season of active harvesting begins. According to folk signs, the weather on Prokopiy the Reaper can indicate what August and autumn will be like.

If the day is clear, then the third month of summer will be dry and warm. Morning fog also warns of this. But heavy precipitation foretells coolness and an early onset of autumn. A hot day is a harbinger of a harsh winter, and strong wind warns of an overly quick end to summer.

According to the Pogoda NGS55.RU (a weather service), on July 21 light rains are expected in Omsk region (Siberia, Russia) throughout the day. As forecasters promise, showers will continue for a week — a sunny day is promised only on July 28.
