Hot and rainy week ahead in Novosibirsk

The next three days in Novosibirsk will be hot, with thunderstorms expected on Wednesday and Thursday. The forecast was published on the website of the West Siberian Hydrometeorological Service (UGMS).

On Tuesday, 21 July, Novosibirsk will see partly cloudy skies, mostly without precipitation. Nighttime temperatures are forecast at +16…+18°C (61–64°F), while daytime temperatures will rise to +28…+30°C (82–86°F). The northeast wind will blow at 4–9 m/s.

On Wednesday, 22 July, the city will be mostly dry at night, with brief rain and thunderstorms during the day. Night temperatures will be +16…+18°C (61–64°F), and daytime temperatures will reach +26…+28°C (79–82°F). Northeast wind speeds will be 4–9 m/s, with gusts up to 14 m/s in some areas during the day.

On Thursday, 23 July, Novosibirsk will experience brief rain and isolated thunderstorms. Nighttime temperatures will again be +16…+18°C (61–64°F), with daytime temperatures of +25…+27°C (77–81°F). The east wind will again blow at 4–9 m/s, with gusts up to 14 m/s in some areas during the day.

On 20 July, NGS also reported that a thunderstorm with hail and winds up to 25 m/s will hit Novosibirsk in the near future.
