Angler Catches 11.5 kg Pike on Ob River
The fish struck early in the morning, and angler Alexey Prokhorov landed a 11.5 kg pike on the Ob River.

In the Shelabolikha district in Altai Krai, angler Alexey Prokhorov caught a pike weighing 11.5 kilograms (approx. 25 lb) and over one meter (approx. 3.3 ft) long on the Ob River. Photos of the huge catch appeared in the Altai Fishing Community.

As the angler told NGS22.RU, luck smiled on him at around 4:00 AM. Initially, he had hoped to catch a zander, but unexpectedly a large pike took the hook.
«I just got lucky. I was waiting for a zander at 4 AM. I had a carp hook and a 0.5 mm fluorocarbon leader. She grabbed the edge of the lip — luck was on my side,» the angler said.
Despite the relatively thin tackle, the man managed to land the trophy fish of enormous weight on the shore.
