«Analysis of current hydrometeorological conditions shows that the spring flood of 2026 will be more difficult than last year, particularly in the Central, Siberian and Far Eastern Federal Districts. Above-normal maximum water levels are possible on the Irtysh and Ishim rivers (Tyumen and Omsk regions) and rivers of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug,» the forecasters said.
Last year, the flood slowly gained momentum. As a result, the water level in the Ob River exceeded the critical mark. In Nizhnevartovsk, the road leading to dacha communities was flooded. We also showed the situation that was in the dacha cooperatives. In Surgut, dacha houses also were under water, but the consequences of the Chernyaya River spill were quickly addressed. In addition, the Bolshoi Yugan and Vandaryas rivers overflowed their banks, flooding the village of Taylakovo and the settlement of Salym.
