SKA earned their first win after seven straight losses, defeating Minsk Dynamo 4-3 in a shootout on the road.
The game in Minsk was tense: the Army Men took the lead twice, but the hosts equalized each time. Goals for SKA were scored by Nikolai Goldobin, Joseph Blandisi, and Valentin Zykov. For Dynamo, Daniil Lipsky, Robert Hamilton, and Andrei Stas found the net.
Rocco Grimaldi scored the decisive shootout goal, securing the long-awaited victory for the Petersburg side. SKA last won on 14 January.
This win ended a club-record losing streak in the KHL. Under coach Igor Larionov, the team remains in eighth place in the Western Conference with 56 points.
SKA will play their next game on 5 February in Cherepovets against local team Severstal.
