Russia's Youth National Team May Play in Volgograd

Volgograd could host the Russia youth national team in UEFA tournaments next spring.

In April 2025, Volgograd may host Russia«s youth national football team for participation in one of UEFA»s tournaments. According to the Russian Football Union (RFU), two candidate cities were considered: Sochi and Volgograd.
In Volgograd and Sochi, Russia«s youth national football teams will play in tournaments with the national flag and anthem. The first tournament in March will be hosted by Sochi. It will feature women»s under-16 national teams. The opponents for our team will be determined soon, reports the RFU. The second tournament in April will be hosted by Volgograd. Along with our boys, national teams from Serbia, Ghana, and Kazakhstan will participate.
The last major international-level football match in Volgograd took place in October last year. At the stadium, the Russian national team played against Iran«s team. Russian footballers won with a score of 2:1. The match was attended by 42,387 spectators.
