The Rostov hockey club lost at home in a VHL (Supreme Hockey League) match to Moscow«s Zvezda in a shootout.

Timofei Barsukov put Rostov ahead in the fourth minute. The home team«s slim lead held until the third period. Dmitri Vlasenko scored two goals, putting the Condors in the chasing role.

Rostov saved themselves three minutes before the end of regulation time with a goal by Yegor Korbit — 2:2.

In overtime, both teams played cautiously and created few dangerous chances. In the shootout, the Muscovites were more accurate.

«If we divide the game by periods: the first was more or less even. In the second, we probably looked stronger. In the third, the opponent outplayed us, except for the end. In overtime, we played unclear — afraid to concede. It was visible that the guys were a bit tired. The opponent played great. They have a mobile team, fast, powerful. It»s hard to play against such an opponent. In the shootout, the Muscovites had stronger nerves,« summarized Rostov head coach Grigori Panteleev.

Rostov has earned 35 points and now holds 30th place in the VHL standings. The Condors have overtaken Chelny and Kristall.
