As part of the training camp in the United Arab Emirates, FC Rostov played a friendly match against Moscow«s Rodina, which represents the First League, and suffered a defeat.
The only goal in this match was scored in the 79th minute by Senegalese footballer Pape Gueye.
Despite having the gameplay advantage, Rostov«s squad failed to equalize.
This setback was the first for the yellow-and-blues at the current camp.
Earlier, the team secured a victory over the Chinese club Chengdu Rongcheng with a score of 3:0, and also played a 1:1 draw with Moscow«s Lokomotiv.
Rostov«s first official match in 2026 will be on February 28, when they visit Krasnodar.
