Yaroslavl Lokomotiv earned a 2-1 victory against Dinamo Minsk in a Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) championship game.

On home ice on the evening of January 21, Yaroslavl Lokomotiv prevailed over Dinamo Minsk with a score of 2:1. Arthur Kayumov opened the scoring in the match, having missed the previous game due to the birth of his daughter. The decisive goal was scored by Yegor Surin, for whom this game was the first after recovering from a hand injury.

After the game, Lokomotiv head coach Bob Hartley shared his impressions with journalists. «It was a good game, an excellent and deserved victory. There was a playoff atmosphere. Thank you to the fans for cheering so passionately for us. The opponent took the lead, but we quickly equalized. I»m very happy for the guys and proud of them,« the specialist stated.

Minsk Dinamo coach Dmitry Kvartalnov also assessed the match, acknowledging the opponent«s strength. »[Our team] lacks a bit of the cheekiness that Lokomotiv is famous for, which is bolder and more confident,« Kvartalnov noted.

Lokomotiv«s next match will be on January 25 away against Moscow Spartak.
