Galliamov answers Guberniev, gets sarcastic retort

Olympic medalist Alexander Galliamov and sports commentator Dmitry Guberniev continue to exchange critical remarks. In a recent interview, the figure skater once again spoke about the TV host, who immediately gave an equally sarcastic response. We explain in order.

The scandal began due to the threat by Galliamov, a native of Berezniki, to leak the phone number of a news channel journalist who called him a little before ten in the morning. The girl wanted to get a comment from the figure skater on his post in a Telegram channel, which hinted at the end of his sports career. Angered by the early call, Galliamov posted in the same Telegram channel a circle where he called the journalist «crazy,» «completely sick in the head,» and proposed in retaliation to «leak» her number. Dmitry Guberniev condemned such behavior and suggested the athlete learn to put his phone on silent mode.

Today, «Soviet Sport» published a lengthy interview with Alexander Galliamov, touching on the conflict over the call in the conversation.

«I hope that journalists will next time take into account that an athlete needs to recover after a performance. An athlete can fall asleep later on adrenaline, as happens with me,» the figure skater noted.

Alexander Galliamov did not stop there and harshly criticized Dmitry Guberniev.

«For him, a known hype-monger, it will only be a joy to feast on such an occasion,» he said. «As for the advice »put away the phone,« it»s not for Dmitry to teach me how to use it. There are strict anti-doping rules according to which I must be available 24/7. The federation regularly holds lectures on anti-doping rules so that we clearly know all the nuances of this system. Therefore, the phone is not just entertainment, but a tool of discipline. If I miss a call or notification, the consequences can be very serious.«

Dmitry Guberniev was so outraged by the word «hype-monger» that he again «slammed» Alexander Galliamov.

«I made my name as a hype-monger on Galliamov. What would we all do without him? Currently, in general, the faces of Russian sports in the world are Ovechkin, Demin, and Galliamov,» he commented to the channel Sport24. «Naturally, who would know me, a known hype-monger, if I hadn»t spoken about Galliamov, who was rude to a journalist.
